Attending exhibitions with dad

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

My dad likes to bring me to trade fairs and exhibitions like MATTA travel fair and ITX computer fair. At these fairs, he will be so busy moving around from stall to stall gathering information from the people or just gather as many brochures as possible.

Most of the time, I do not understand what he was discussing with the people manning the stall. Sometimes, my dad will explain to me about the information displayed on the exhibition displays stand. He will ask me questions about my understanding on what I observed on the display stands as well. If I do not know, he will explain further.

Before he approaches any of the stalls for information, he will spend sometime reading about the company or products advertised on the exhibition displays. Since I am not as tall as the adults, the exhibition displays are really blocking my views of the whole trade fair. Sometimes, I had to ask my dad to carry me so that I can see what is going on at the other side of the hall.

But then, not all exhibition displays are nuisance to me. I like those stands with cartoons or movies information on it. I will drag my dad or mum to see them and make them bring me to see the movies in the cinema or buy me the DVDs to watch at home.

Mum is coming back from Seattle

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Finally mum is coming back. Today is the day. Sunday 2nd December 2007. Dad and I went to airport to fetch mum. We waited for her at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport arrival hall for her. After awhile, she walked out from the terminal. I was so happy and ran to hug her.

She told me that she bought me a few dresses, lots of chocolate and some toys. I just wait to go home to see these toys. At home, she opened her bags and showed me my gifts from her. She bought me a nutcracker, nutcracker musical box and nutcracker Christmas tree decorative items plus a Barbie doll - Princess Elina from the Fairytopia - Magic of the Rainbow movie.

She bought some t-shirts from Seattle and a mug from the first Starbucks outlet for dad. She knew dad is crazy about the fish shop in Seattle market, she got him a t-shirt of the fish market.

I cant wait to put up the Christmas tree decorative items but my mum told me to wait till tomorrow as everyone was tired. We will try out the chocolates my mum bought for us today.

Fun with Dad

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

This week, I will be staying at home with my dad. Only two of us without my mum. She is away in Seattle on business trip.

Dad told me that he will come back early from work to bring me go walk about in 1-Utama and Curve. He knows my favorite is New Zealand Ice Cream and Rotiboy. I am sure he will get me these two things after my dinner.

After that we will go home to watch movies together. But, most of the time, I will have to wait for him to complete the housework before we can watch the movies together. He will be busy with house work like boiling water, laundry, cleaning house, etc and I helped him.

Later, we will play some games like “snake and ladder”, ludo and tic-tac-toe. Then, he read me stories for me before I sleep.

Today is my mum and dad’s wedding anniversary and mum called from Seattle to talk to us before we go to bed. She told us that it was very early in Seattle.

Home Alone with Dad

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

Mummy has been telling me that she is going off for business trip again. This time is only for one week to Seattle. I guess she wants to prepare me to live without her for a week. I am fine to have only dad around. We are counting days until the day she will leave for Seattle.

The day before she leaves she reminded me one more time that she will leave the next day. She told me she will leave very early and probably, I will still be asleep when she leaves. She promised to bring back presents from Seattle.

When I woke up this morning, my mum has already left for the airport. My dad told me my mum has left at 7AM when I was still asleep.

Later, dad took me out for breakfast and we went swimming at the neighborhood club.

Swimming on Sunday

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

I worked up early on weekends as usual. My mum and dad will be late as usual. It seems like we swap placed between weekdays and weekends. During the weekdays, they will wake up early and had to literally pull me out from bed.

I do the same to them during the weekends. I will tell them the sun is up. It’s time to wake up. Sometimes, I call them sleepy heads.

Once my dad woke up, I asked him to bring me go swimming at the neighbourhood club. Since he has already promised to bring me go swimming, he agreed. He had quick breakfast at the nearby mamak stalls. I had my favorite roti canai with sugar and teh tarik. Dad has his roti telur and teh tarik too. Mum will eat when she waits for us by the pool. This is her usual routine.

At the pool, my dad and I will have our usual arguement over my ability to swim. I told him can swim very fast with a tube. He said that I am still not able to swim since I am dependant on the tube.  Well, we have been arguing over this for a long time.

Happy Birthday, Uncle Ho

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

Today, my daddy told me that we were going for a birthday party. It’s a birthday party for his school teacher. So, he came back from work early. We went back home and got ready. Then, he drove us to his teacher’s house which was nearby.

Mr Ho's birthday party

The teacher’s wife invited us for a small party in their house and thought we didn’t know that it was his birthday. But, my daddy knew about it. He remembered his teacher’s birthday.

I met so many friends at the party and we played among ourselves. Later, we sang the birthday song for my daddy’s school teacher.

There was so much to eat. There was sausages, nuggets, fried chicken, friend noodle, cakes and drinks. My mummy fed me with so much food so that I have enough energy to lay with my friends.

Practising for Terry Fox Run

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

My dad brought me to the park for a long walk. He told me that we are going for Terry Fox Run this coming weekend. It’s going to be held in Lake Garden Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, 4th November at 9AM. We are going to be there for the Run.

So, we have to practise for the walk. He told me that neither mum nor himself will be carrying me thoughout the Terry Fox Run. Last year, i turned the Terry Fox Run into Terry Fox Walk for my parents. I made them carry me the whole distance. Pity my mum. My dad spend most of his time taking pictures of my mum carrying me.

I am going to get the Terry Fox Run t-shirt again. It look very nice with the picture of Terry Fox running across Canada. This is the nice t-shirt…..

Mum is going away again!

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Last night, my mum told me she had to go to Singapore for a day trip. She told me Singapore is where my cousin Tiffany lived. We have been there last year to visit cousin Tiffany, Singapore Zoo and Sentosa.

This morning, we woke up earlier and we were already at my aunt’s place at 7AM. They left me there for my uncle to send me to school. They left my aunt’s place immediately because my dad wanted to send my mum to airport.

I wondered if they will go for work and not return for a long time again. I started to cry at my aunt’s place. I continued crying when I was in school. I did not stop crying after I return from school. I only stopped when my dad came to see my in the evening. I was so relieved seeing my dad. I know they were not leaving me behind again.

I asked my dad to bring me home immediately. I don’t want to stay at my aunt’s place. He did just that. I wouldn’t let him go for even a second. I wouldn’t even let him change his office attire. We just watched the movie together at home until my mum came home at 9PM.

Mum and Dad came back home

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

This morning, my aunt told me that my mum and dad will come back home after my school today. I was very excited and kept thinking of them when I was in school

After I came back from school, I asked my autn if they are back. She said not yet. They will arrive very soon. Finally at 3PM,  my mum and dad came back home. They came to my aunt’s house directly to see me. After awhile, they brought me home to rest.

At home, my mum took out a small present for me from Egypt. It’s the headgear for a belly dance. It looks good on me.
