My cousin’s baptism

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Today, my parents brought me to attend my cousin, Danielle, baptism at St Thomas Church in Sentul. This is the third time I attended baptism in this church. The other two were the baptisms for Danielle’s elder sisters, Sarah and Hanna. This time, I managed to sit through the whole session without giving my parents any trouble. They were very pleased with me :)

Before going to St Thomas Church, we went to Pavillion Kuala Lumpur for tea. We wanted to get some doughnuts at J.Co but it was so crowded. We tried J.Co in Bandung earlier this year and we liked it very much. So, we ended up with coffee from Gloria Jean, pies from Polar and ice cream from Baskin-Robbins.

In Pavillion, we watch a group of Indian classical musicians performing for the crowded on a stage surrounded by colorful pattern. My dad told me the colorful pattern is called Kolam. Kolam is an Indian art using colored rice powder used for religious purpose.

We took some pictures of these Indian classical musicians and kolam.

Family outing at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Today is the day!!! My mum and dad are bringing me to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park together with my cousin and grandpa. But, my dad forgot to bring his camera. He must be getting old as he is so forgetful. This is my first trip to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park and he forgot about his camera.

I cannot join many rides because I am too young. The Pirate Revenge 360 degree ride requires me to be 4’ 6” and I am only 3’ 6”. I still need to eat a lot to grow up to be that tall. My dad told me I have to eat more rice, fish, chicken, vegetable, prawns, fishballs and noodles to grow taller. He always tells me that. Just eat more of everything.

All of us went for the rides in the Wild Wild West section. I enjoyed the Buffalo Bill Coaster, Apache Pots, wagon wheel, the vulture, carnival walk and played some games at the arcade. I also saw the two huge tigers from very close. I can see their sharp teeth which are so scary.

From Wild Wild West, we went to “Waters of Africa”. We just played in the water. My dad rented a huge tube and was trying to persuade me to ride on it. Initially I was afraid and later, he just picked me up and put me on the tube with my mum. Actually, I liked it very much.

He brought us to the ‘Zimbezi River’ and we were drifting along the ‘river’ until we reached the ‘Victoria Fall’. My dad deliberately pulled our tube and moved it under the ‘fall’. He made us all very wet. After one round, I asked for another. When we reached the ‘Victoria Fall’, he made us wet again. He was so bad.

When it was time for dinner, we left the place. I looked darker and less pretty now. Mum told me it’s because I swan under the hot sun.

Visiting chocolate factory

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Last week, my Montessori school brought the students to visit a chocolate factory. Initially, my mum was hesitant to allow me to join the study tour. But, my dad is always supportive. He will always allow me to join all activities as long as it’s safe.

We went to the factory in two big orange color buses. We lined up according to our teacher’s instruction and go up the bus in an orderly fashion. Some mothers were at my Montessori school to see my friends go up the bus.

When the bus left my school, I can see some mothers were following our bus in their cars. My friends were waving to their mothers. But, my mum and dad were at work. They told me they have to go to work to earn money to buy milk and pay for my school fees.

In the factory, the manager brought us to see how they make chocolates. Later they let us taste the chocolates which were so yummy. They gave us a few packets of chocolate for us to bring back to our mum and dad.

When I returned home, I shared the chocolate with my mum and dad. They like it so much and said ‘Thank You’ to me.
