MATTA Fair 2007

Friday, September 7th, 2007

This place was so crowded. I really hate this place. I am just a small kid and I cannot see anything at this place. My mum and dad were busy talking to the people at the counters and collecting brochures.

After spending 4 hours here, finally they decided to buy a few vacation packages that include me. We will be going to Redang Island next year in late March. My mum and dad have never been to this island before. He said he is going diving when he is there. He told me diving is like what I saw in Nemo. He is going to dress up like the bad guy who caught Nemo but he promised me he is not going to catch Nemo.

Then, we are also going to Colmar Tropicale at Berjaya Hill nearby in November. My parents also have not been to this place. They told me there are Japanese Gardens, deer park, rabbit park and donkey rides. I hate donkeys!!!.

We are going back to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park again. This time we are going with Ashley and Jolyn. It will be in December during the school holidays.

Moment of Truth

Friday, September 7th, 2007

By the time we arrived in the music class, most of the students and their parents have already taken their place and chose the electones. My parents and I chose the next available electone. Then, the music teacher came in and made an announcement. The school principal was not well and she could not come to evaluate us. This was really a bad news. How can I pass? Then, the music teacher told us that she would do the evaluation and pass us if we do well. This was the good news :)

I was the first to call upon to perform. I walked to the teacher’s electone and sat down. Calmly I opened the music book to the page for ‘The French-Fry Bandit’ and I started to play. As I play, I began to relax. Moreover, without realizing it, I completed the whole song. Everyone clapped for me. I was so happy and I went back to sit with my parents.

I waited for the rest of the students to perform before we start with group performance. We sang the song ‘Baby Twinkle’ and played various instruments for another song called ‘Indian Dance’ together. Everyone of us enjoyed ourselves.

At the end of the session, the music teacher told us that all of us passed the test. Then, she briefed us on the next session on Book 3.

After that, we had our party. I shared my jelly with all my friends and they shared their food with me.

After the party, my parents took me to MATTA Fair.

Making jelly with mum

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

This morning, my mum reminded me that we will be making jelly tonight. I was so excited and I told my friends in Montessori school about it. After school, I phoned my mum to remind her to come back early so that we can make jelly together.

My mum came back from work earlier than usual. We had quick dinner and headed home. But, my mum made me practice my music before we can start to make jelly. So, I had to practice my music for the final time. This evening’s practice was not easy. My mum and dad made sure I do not make any mistakes. So, I had to repeat the same song again a few times until they are satisfied.

We started making jelly at 9PM. It was fun. I helped mum to pour the jelly crystals into the hot water and stirred until it dissolved. We did the same routine twice. First was for red strawberry and the other for blueberry. When it cooled down, my mum poured it into the plastic cups which she bought from Giant yesterday.

Then, it was bedtime again. No computer games tonight as my dad to me that it was late and I had to wake up early tomorrow for my Yamaha Junior Music class.

Disaster strikes again

I simply cannot believe it!!! It happened again for the second time in two weeks. My Montessori teacher gave me English spelling test for words meant for September 12. This time, I got two out of five. I am not happy and my dad is upset.

Last week on August 29, she gave us English spelling test meant for Sept 5. After my dad clarified with her, it seemed to have resolved the problem.

Never mind, my dad will be seeing my Montessori teacher again tomorrow for explanation with better clarity.

I have always wanted to perform well in my Montessori school’s spelling tests be it English, Bahasa Malaysia or even Mandarin. Nevertheless, if my mum and dad do not properly understand the schedule, they cannot help me prepare for the tests.

More practise on electone

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

I am so worried about my music test this weekend but excited about the party. My mum and dad are stressed about my practice. They kept remind me to practice every evening after dinner.

I kept pestering my mum to buy jelly crystals so that we can make the jelly for the party. She kept postponing it. She told me she will only buy it on Thursday and we will make the jelly on Friday evening. So, I have to wait another day before we can go the Giant to buy the jelly crystals.

My practice for the three songs is getting better. I made fewer mistakes. My mum is happy. I get to play computer games tonight.

Poem : Just For This Day

Just For This Day
Just for this morning, I am going to smile whenever I see your face and laugh when I feel like crying.Just for this morning, I will let you wake up softly, all rumpled in your flannel and I will hold you until you are ready.Just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say you’re beautiful.

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

Just for this morning, I am going to eat a huge breakfast, with bacon eggs, toast and waffles, and you don’t have to eat any.

Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that 100 piece puzzle together.

Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the garden blowing bubbles.

Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by.

Just for this afternoon, I won’t worry about what you are going to be when you grow up or who you might have been before your diagnosis.

Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won’t stand over you trying to ‘fix’ things.

Just for this afternoon, I will let you put all kinds of barettes in my hair, and put lipstick on my face, and I will tell you how pretty you have made me look.

Just for this afternoon I will take you to McDonalds and buy us both a Happy meal so you can have both toys.

Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born, and how much we love you.

Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the bathtub and not get angry when you throw water over your sister’s head.

Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch swing and count all the stars.

Just for this evening, I will bring you glasses of water, and snuggle
beside you for three hours and miss my favorite show on t.v.

Just for this evening, When I kneel down to pray, I will simply be grateful for all that I have and not ask for anything, except….

Just one more day.

Practising for Yamaha Junior Music test

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

These few days, I am so busy practicing music for my Yamaha Junior Music Book 2 test.  I chose to perform the music ‘The French-Fry Bandit’. I also have to practice a song called ‘Baby Twinkle’ for group performance and practice tambourine for another song called ‘Indian Dance’.  My mum will sit down together with me to help me when I am practicing.

My music teacher is also organizing a small party after the test. The previous week, I told my music teacher that I will bring jelly for the party. Earlier, I have helped mum made some jelly for us to eat at home. I will help my mum to make the jelly and bring it to the party.

Each evening, my mum and dad will remind me to practice these three songs. After the practice, my dad will let me play with his computers. He will let me choose any game I want to play.

I am not perfect yet. I still make mistakes here and there but I am improving. I am sure I will do well on that day and make my mum and dad proud of me.
